CNBC Launches "Cities of Success" to Spotlight New Hubs for Business

New series explores cities that have transformed into business power centers driving change across the entire U.S. economy

First stop: Nashville, TN and the high-profile innovators, investors and cultural icons that turned Music City into a global business destination

CNBC to air one-hour primetime "Cities of Success" special featuring Nashville on December 6 at 10pm ET/PT

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J., November 15, 2023 – CNBC, First in Business Worldwide, today announced the launch of "Cities of Success," a new cross-platform franchise that uncovers how key cities have rebuilt themselves as centers for technology giants, maverick founders and lifestyle brands looking for a home away from America's traditional financial hubs.

"Cities of Success" will feature a different city each quarter and highlight the entrepreneurial spirit that has attracted capital, companies and employees. In choosing the "Cities of Success," CNBC factored in metrics such as population rate change, GDP growth between 2010 and 2021, local home price growth since 2022, income growth and unemployment rates. The franchise will include a one-hour primetime special, live segments across CNBC's Business Day programming, digital features and events. The network's expert roster of anchors and reporters will lead the program and interview local figures to reveal why these cities are on the rise.

On Wednesday, December 6 at 10pm ET/PT, CNBC will air a one-hour primetime "Cities of Success" special featuring Nashville, TN exploring its remarkable evolution from an economy once almost exclusively powered by music to a prominent center for healthcare and research. Nashville is experiencing explosive development and attracting the likes of Amazon, Oracle, Nissan, AllianceBernstein, Lamborghini, Ferrari, venture capital, startups and professional sports teams. Anchored by CNBC's Carl Quintanilla, the program features interviews with country music star Garth Brooks, former Democratic Tennessee Governor and Nashville Mayor Philip Bredesen, former Republican Tennessee Governor and Knoxville Mayor Bill Haslam, AllianceBernstein CEO Seth Bernstein, North America Lamborghini CEO Andrea Baldi, among other notable business leaders.

As part of the franchise, CNBC will also partner with Junior Achievement of Middle Tennessee, a nonprofit that inspires and prepares young people for success, to engage the community and educate students about personal finance. Tennessee was one of the first states to mandate high school personal finance classes, and Junior Achievement of Middle Tennessee provides financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and work readiness curriculum to thousands of local students. CNBC's Senior Personal Finance Correspondent, Sharon Epperson, will host a CNBC Your Money event on December 6 at Junior Achievement's Finance Park facility to lead local high school students in an exclusive, interactive lesson about personal finance.

The community engagement with students is part of CNBC's financial education initiative, CNBC Your Money, dedicated to helping people manage, grow and protect their money so they can live ambitiously. The initiative, which is an extension of the CNBC Your Money editorial brand, further amplifies the organization's content and helps to meet the needs of a core but underserved audience segment. Through access and advocacy, the initiative educates people about their personal finances across every life stage from school age to retirement.
