What social media do you follow?

A little Facebook, little Twitter, a little Instagram, a lot of more specific industry activity of blogs.

What app do you use regularly?

I use Uber a lot these days.

How do you communicate with friends, family, and coworkers if you're not face-to-face

I'm a big emailer and texter but at my best, it's through the written word. I'm a big believer in letter writing and writing handwritten notes as a real reflection of sincere communication. So the best app is a pen. And the best medium is paper.

What's your favorite tech item in your home?

My favorite tech item is a sleeping sound soothing machine that actually optimizes some aspects of my sleep.

What's your favorite drink?

My favorite drink is Coke Zero. With ice.

What's your idea of fun outside of work?

I like running. Exercise has a Zen release to it that really matters to me.

What's the most fun at work?

At work I like refining mental models so that the improvements we're making have lasting value.

Who's a business hero of yours?

One business hero of mine is Winston Churchill. Another business hero of mine in the modern day is Jeff Bezos, because he challenges us to be continuously learning forever.

What personal qualities do you admire in business?

I admire curiosity. I admire a passion to make things better and to be more mindful about how we choose to spend our time.

What is your dream?

I'm living my dream.

Do you have a motto?

I like "To thyself be true." And I like a lot of other ones, one of which is Winston Churchill's, "Never never never give up." At Uptake I say, let's do something that matters in the world.

What is your present state of mind?

My present state of mind is peace. I work very hard to be present in the moment.
