Gurjeet Singh is a co-founder of Ayasdi, a Silicon Valley startup named 2014′s Most Innovative Company in the Big Data category by Fast Company.

Ayasdi was started in 2008 to bring a groundbreaking new visual approach to solving the worlds most complex big data problems. The company sprang from a decade of research led by Gunnar Carlsson, one of the world's leading mathematicians.

Singh holds a Bachelor's degree from Delhi University, and a Masters and Ph.D. degree in Computational Mathematics from Stanford University. He first met Carlsson at Stanford during his Ph.D. where he did a†thesis on the theory, algorithms and applications of Topological Data Analysis (TDA).

Singh also participated on Carlsson's DARPA funded research project to study how topology can be applied to solve real world problems. During this time, Gurjeet designed and developed various TDA algorithms to bring out the shape and meaning of data. This led to the creation of Ayasdis core technology and machine-learning algorithms.

Gurjeet has published academic papers in top mathematics journals and computer science conferences. He previously worked at Google and Texas Instruments. He lives in Palo Alto with his wife and son, and develops multi-legged robots in his spare time.
