SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine -- One of the Maine's largest publicly traded companies is changing its name.
Wright Express Corp. announced Thursday that its new name is WEX Inc.
The South Portland-based company's main line of business provides payment processing and information management services to commercial and government vehicle fleets. CEO Michael Dubyak says the new name reflects the company's transformation and future growth strategies.
The company will continue to be listed under the symbol WXS on the New York Stock Exchange.
WEX has more than 350,000 customers worldwide and more than 1,300 employees.
