NBC4 Southern California Hosts Telethon to Raise Funds for Hurricane Sandy Relief

All Funds Donated to the American Red Cross to Aid Those Impacted by the Devastation

BURBANK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- NBC4 Southern California announced today it will team up with the American Red Cross to organize a day-long telethon to raise funds for Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. The ‘NBC4 Sandy Relief’ telethon will be held on Friday, November 2, from 5 a.m.-11:30 p.m. at the Burbank Studios. Viewers are encouraged to call toll free number (866) 658-1903 and make a donation of any amount.

NBC4 news anchors and reporters will join volunteers from the American Red Cross to answer calls during the 14-hour telethon. Regular programing will continue, with updates from the call center throughout the day and during the station’s newscasts.

Donations are also welcome at www.nbcla.com by clicking on the ‘Sandy Relief Fund’ button beginning Friday, November 2. Money collected will be donated to the American Red Cross to help fund their efforts in providing shelter, food, emotional support and other assistance to those affected by Hurricane Sandy.

"Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together," hosted by Matt Lauer, will air Friday, November 2 (8-9 pm ET) on NBC and its cable stations, Bravo, CNBC, USA, MSNBC, Style, Syfy, G4 and E! The concert will feature Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi, Billy Joel, Christina Aguilera and Sting, as well as Jimmy Fallon of NBC’s “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” and Brian Williams, anchor of NBC News.
