Vertex® Indirect Tax O Series first enterprise tax software to receive accreditation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales
LONDON & BERWYN, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Following a thorough testing and evaluation process, Vertex Indirect Tax O Series is now the first enterprise tax software solution for VAT to receive accreditation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), a professional membership organisation providing insight and leadership to the global accountancy and finance professions.
Vertex Indirect Tax O Series provides corporate tax departments with tools and analytics to better manage indirect tax obligations and compliance. O Series is the leader in indirect tax software and integrates with corporate ERP and finance systems to help organisations alleviate the burden and costs associated with maintaining Value Added Tax (VAT) and other international indirect tax rates, rules, and logic. O Series functionality gives the Tax department oversight and control of the decisions for indirect tax determinations, including VAT returns, allowing companies to make intelligent, tax-informed decisions.
“The accreditation of our software by the ICAEW speaks to not only the effectiveness of our solutions, but also the quality of support we provide our clients,” said Chris Walsh, Chief Tax Officer, International for Vertex Inc. “The rigorous process employed by the ICAEW ensures that O Series meets the professional and technical standards that are required by multinational corporations.”
ICAEW accreditation is designed to give the Institute’s membership, which includes nearly 138,000 accountants and finance professionals across the globe, access to reliable and independently evaluated software products. All products that receive accreditation have satisfied the ICAEW’s robust technical evaluation criteria and are from companies that are financially sound and offer strong customer support. ICAEW’s accredited software spans e-commerce products to property management and letting software. That list now includes enterprise-level corporate tax software with the addition of Vertex Inc., the leading provider of corporate enterprise tax solutions. Baker Tilly, a full-service accounting and advisory firm, administered and verified the accreditation process.
“On behalf of the ICAEW and its membership, I’d like to congratulate Vertex on achieving accreditation and welcome the company to the ICAEW’s list of accredited software,” said Craig McLellan, ICAEW accreditation scheme manager.
The accreditation come as Vertex continues to innovate and invest in its global indirect tax solution for multinational corporations. This includes certifying many of its research, customer support and consulting employees through the Institute of Indirect Taxation’s VAT Compliance Diploma programme. The programme provides Vertex employees with training, knowledge and certification in the areas of purchase ledger, sales ledger, preparation of VAT returns and advising on general VAT matters.
Vertex’s innovation in global indirect tax management was recently recognised by International Tax Review magazine who named Vertex the European Tax Innovator of the Year at the publication’s 2012 European Tax Awards. The award recognises companies whose products or processes have done the most to help taxpayers manage their affairs more efficiently.
“Multinational companies continue to face increased complexity and burden in dealing with global indirect taxes, including VAT,” said Chris Lawrence, Senior Product Manager for Vertex Inc. “By continuing to innovate and strengthening our solutions and expertise, Vertex plays a crucial role in alleviating this burden and is committed to supporting companies’ global indirect tax needs, particularly those that operate in the United Kingdom and Europe.”
