Fugro-Jason to Show Integrated Petrophysics & GeoModeling at SPE ATCE 2012

Superior models showing connectivity and flow barriers built in less time for all resource plays

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Fugro-Jason, the leader in reservoir characterization technology for the oil and gas industry, will highlight its latest software for geologists, petrophysicists and reservoir engineers at the 2012 SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition (ATCE) held in San Antonio, Texas on October 8-10. Live presentations in the booth theater will feature practical discussions on using capillary pressure to generate water saturation curves, characterizing reservoirs in complex geologies, and building stochastic models in shale plays.

“Reservoir models play a critical role in decisions made by petroleum engineers, geologists and their asset teams about where to drill and how to optimize production,” said Eric Adams, Fugro-Jason Managing Director. “By using our software, these geoscientists can build these reservoir models efficiently, update them rapidly and use them to improve decision-making throughout the field lifecycle.”

Fugro-Jason will present and demonstrate PowerLog® and EarthModel® FT. PowerLog is Fugro-Jason’s flagship petrophysical software, featuring multi-well analysis, multi-interpreter collaboration, capillary pressure analysis, facies identification, multi-mineral analysis and stochastic mineral modeling. EarthModel FT integrates structural modeling, reservoir property modeling, upscaling and direct output to most flow simulators in one package. Data can be easily interchanged between PowerLog and EarthModel FT, allowing early modeling of initial wells, quick addition of new wells, incorporation of results from mineralogical analysis and other refinements over the lifetime of the field.

“Our integration ensures that reservoir engineers and other geoscientists can focus on their analysis rather than data exchange, a common distraction for asset teams,” said Adams. “They can build their models earlier knowing that they can easily update and refine the models as their body of knowledge expands.”

PowerLog and EarthModel FT work with Jason™ reservoir characterization software to support the full seismic to simulation workflow. Jason addresses a wide variety of geologic settings and challenges with powerful geostatistical reservoir characterization; wavelet estimation and well to seismic ties; and 2D and 3D seismic inversion.
