FreedomWorks for America Raises Over $1.8 Million in Online Money Bomb

Massive community of over 36,000 online donors tops fundraising goal

WASHINGTON, Oct. 2, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- FreedomWorks for America has recorded a massive online Money Bomb, raising over $1.8 million from over 36,427 grassroots donors in all 50 states in just twelve days.

"We've turned the established SuperPAC model of fundraising on its head," commented Russ Walker, FreedomWorks for America National Political Director. "Rather than using large checks from a small collection of donors to purchase expensive ad buys, we are growing a community of many smaller donors to invest in ground-game organizing. The unprecedented success of our Money Bomb is a testament to the lasting strength of the grassroots freedom movement."

Donations to FreedomWorks for America's Money Bomb will immediately fund production and distribution of grassroots campaign materials on behalf of endorsed candidates, sophisticated online walking map and phone banking technologies, and targeted voter identification efforts.

"Acting as a service center for grassroots activists not only wins elections, but builds community," commented Communications Manager Michael Duncan. "Online and on-the-ground, we're building a massive and permanent constituency of fiscal conservatives that will show up on November 6th, but even more importantly, on November 7th."

FreedomWorks for America is a grassroots Super PAC with over 2 million members nationwide, dedicated to electing fiscal conservatives who will advance the principles of lower taxes, less government and more freedom. Unlike traditional Super PACs which exist to produce expensive advertising buys, FreedomWorks for America was created to develop tools to empower local activists to create a winning ground game that will transform grassroots conservatism into lasting political change this November.
