Artist Sean Kenney Introduces Line of Hand-Crafted, Classically-Designed Lamps Made from LEGO Bricks

NEW YORK, Oct. 3, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Brooklyn-based artist Sean Kenney today unveiled a line of elegantly-designed, classically-inspired lamps, each created by hand in his New York City studio and fashioned from LEGO bricks. Featuring five styles in a variety of colors, each lamp comprises approximately 2,500 genuine LEGO bricks and is a one-of-a-kind fit for living rooms, dens and bedrooms – a unique conversation piece for apartments and homes alike. Sean's lamp was featured in a recent episode of the hit HGTV design show Home By Novogratz.

"As someone who loves interior design, decor and architectural flourishes, I've always wanted to create something functional for the home, weaving together my personal design aesthetic and the LEGO brick – my choice of artistic medium," says Kenney. "These lamps are the result: clean, simple, and modern, and sure to catch the eye in whatever room they're in."

Kenney's lamps are made from LEGO pieces, glued together and built around a metal frame to ensure rigidity, and weighted with a steel base. Each lamp can accommodate up to a 40-watt bulb – energy-efficient compact fluorescent or LED bulbs are recommended – and each features a flat fabric shade to gently diffuse light.

There are five models – the Lexington, Stanton, Mercer, Devoe and Lafayette – and each comes in 10 colors. The lamps can also be personalized upon request. Visit http://www.seankenney.com/shop/lamps/ for more information.
