In the two weeks since My Instastory has been published on the iPhone App-Store, thousands of "insta-stories" have already been shared by Instagram users, capturing interesting and personal moments with pictures of children, places, friends, pets, sports and music events – many themes that users found exciting and worthy of sharing, beyond the single photos.

Unlike previous video/presentation editing apps, My Instastory is fully immersed in the Instagram ecosystem, does not require any editing skills or complexity, nor tedious waiting for upload time. By limiting the clip time to 40 seconds, My Instastory helps the user focus on a short, meaningful "story" expressed with photos and music, and creates a visual and emotional language that practically everybody can relates to and chime in – not unlike the way Twitter helped people focus their expressions by limiting the messages to 140 characters.
My Instastory was conceived when Patrick Sebag, a renowned video and music producer and owner of the music label "Tesha Studio" was celebrating his first year of using Instagram, and was searching for a way to put together some of his Instagram photos and display them to the sound of his favorite music. After failing to find an easy tool to do that right on his iPhone, he contacted his friends Dror Davidoff and Emil Alon, both successful Israeli high-tech entrepreneurs, and together they built a small professional team that rapidly developed the application.
The development has been self-funded by the team, and recently some investors are in discussion with InstaStory regarding capital investment.
