New service enables partners to eliminate overhead required to manage .pst files, reduce risk, and gain more control over messaging data for their customers
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- VAR Dynamics, which provides MSPs with one of the SaaS industry’s broadest range of services, announced today it has added Personal Archiving for Microsoft Exchange to its expanding portfolio.
The Personal Archiving offering, an additional storage option for VAR Dynamics’ Hosted Microsoft Exchange mailboxes, relieves its MSP partners of the inherent difficulties and risk exposure of managing Outlook .pst (Personal Storage Folder) files for email storage and archiving. It also gives partners much greater control and flexibility in managing email messaging data for clients and controlling costs associated with storage quotas.
As is known, locating and managing .pst files for clients, which are generally created by users and reside on their computers or network shares, can be a costly and risky manual effort. Reliance on .pst files reduces organizational control of data, increases discovery costs associated with lawsuits and regulatory requirements, prohibits the application of retention policies, and exposes data to the vulnerability of theft. Personal Archiving gives users seamless access to their archive mailbox and significantly reduces the risk exposures presented by .pst files.

The Personal Archiving service also gives partners greater flexibility and cost control options in managing messaging data for those clients who do not face burdensome compliance requirements. For these clients, the Compliance Archiving service, which requires storage of every incoming and outgoing email at an offsite location, is not a cost effective option for the narrower goal of simply storing selected historical messaging data.
The new Personal Archiving service is being launched on the heels of VAR Dynamics’ recent announcement of the availability of Intronis’ award-winning cloud backup and recovery service in the new VAR Dynamics Control Panel.
