The Jenzabar Foundation Recognizes Student-Led Community Service Work

Student Leadership Awards Honor Three Student Leaders and Groups

BOSTON, Oct. 3, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Jenzabar Foundation honored student groups for outstanding dedication to service work at a recent Student Leadership Awards ceremony held in Boston, MA on September 14. The event recognized three Student Leadership Award winners who have made significant contributions to better the world outside of their colleges and universities.

The three student-led campus groups were the remaining 2012 Jenzabar Foundation Student Leadership Award recipients. The Foundation has recognized a total of ten student-led campus groups and projects this year who each receive a $5,000 grant to continue their work. The Jenzabar Foundation Student Leadership Award honorees have exemplified a commitment to community service or humanitarian work through ongoing activities or a completion of a project during the 2011-2012 academic year.

The following student groups earned 2012 Student Leadership Awards on September 14:

Bradley University's Lewis J. Burger Center for Student Leadership and Public Service

We applaud the students and Bradley University for establishing such a wonderful center and participating in such projects that benefit the community and change the world. The Lewis J. Burger Center for Student Leadership and Public Service was established in 1996 to educate and prepare Bradley students to be committed and effective leaders in their careers, families, and communities by providing leadership development programs and service learning opportunities. Five other award winners were announced in early June, recognizing student groups from: Asbury Theological Seminary, Buena Vista University, Rice University, University of Saint Francis and Valley Forge Christian College.
