SCAN Health Plan Promotes Don Couch to Vice President of Systems and Application Development

LONG BEACH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- SCAN Health Plan, one of the nation’s largest not-for-profit Medicare Advantage plans, has named Don Couch its vice president of systems and application development, effective immediately. In this new role, Couch will be responsible for application development across all platforms supporting SCAN's business. He will report directly to SCAN’s Chief Information Officer Roy Swackhamer.

When Couch joined SCAN in 2006, he brought 25 years of information technology experience with him – 20 of which were spent in healthcare. Prior to SCAN he spent 15 years at PacifiCare where he provided IT leadership across a number of strategic/operational areas, including: call center, grievance and appeals, and provider contracting.

Couch previously held various IT roles at Health Plan of America, Marketing Direct Inc., Yokohama Tire and Ameron International. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
