Recalls this week: denim shorts, LED TV's

A line of girls' denim shorts with studs that can become a choking hazard to young children are among this week's recalled consumer products. Other products include LED TV's with defective stands and off-road vehicles that pose a carbon monoxide poisoning threat.

GIRLS' DENIM SHORTS

DETAILS: Pink Angel embroidered girls' denim shorts sold at Buy Buy Baby from January 2012 through July 2012. The "Pink Angel" branded embroidered denim shorts for girl infants and toddlers came in sizes 12M to 4T. The shorts have a bright pink lace belt and feature two embroidered butterflies on the left front panel with decorative studs attached to the front and rear pockets.

WHY: Decorative studs on the denim shorts' pockets can detach and pose a choking hazard to young children.

INCIDENTS: One report of the decorative studs detaching from the shorts. No injuries were reported.

LED TVs

DETAILS: Haier 42-inch LED TVs sold at Fry's Electronics and other retail stores nationwide and online at Amazon.com and other online retailers from September 2011 through March 2012.

WHY: The TV stand's neck support can break and cause the TV to tip over.

INCIDENTS: 184 reports of the stand's neck cracking or breaking, but no injuries reported.

HOW MANY: About 5,000.

SUSPENSION TRAINER DEVICES

DETAILS: Suspension Trainer Devices sold at health and fitness stores and studios nationwide and online at http://www.FitnessAnywhere.com from January 2006 through December 2009. The products' anchor straps are yellow or khaki nylon with a carabiner at the top end and a black nylon loop on the bottom end. The devices have hand grips with no end bumpers, which are black plastic caps covering the ends and preventing the plastic under the foam from being exposed. They also have badges on the straps with the TRX logo and the word "Professional" or "Tactical" on them.

WHY: The strap length-adjustment buckles can break, posing a fall hazard.

INCIDENTS: 570 reports of the strap length-adjustment buckles breaking with 82 reports of the user falling, including 13 reports of head, face, shoulder and hip injuries.

FRONTLOAD WASHERS

DETAILS: GE Profile front load washers sold nationwide from July 2008 to August 2011. The GE Profile front load washing machines were sold in gold, red and white colors. The model number is located on the washer's right side near the bottom and behind the door near the door frame visible when the door is opened. The model numbers begin with WPDH8800, WPDH8900, and WPDH8910 and all serial numbers with those models are included in the recall.

WHY: The washer's basket can separate during use and break the washer's top panel, posing an injury hazard to consumers.

INCIDENTS: 19 reports of washer baskets separating, including 10 reports of top panel breakage. No injuries reported.

OFF-ROAD UTILITY VEHICLES

DETAILS: Kubota RTV500 4x4 utility vehicle with cab. It has side-by-side seating for two people, a small cargo bed, and an optional cab. The vehicle is gasoline-powered and available in the colors orange or camouflage. The model number "RTV500" is on the doors of the vehicle. "Kubota" and "4x4" are on the outside of the cargo bed. They were sold from Sept. 2008 through April 2012.

WHY: Carbon monoxide can accumulate in the vehicle cab when the engine is idling and the vehicle is not moving, resulting in carbon monoxide poisoning.

INCIDENTS: Two instances of headaches attributed to carbon monoxide gas.

HOW MANY: About 970.
