Shelley Taylor's personal documentary "In His Footsteps" is an intimate look into grief, loss and failure, giving us hope that life isn't always over when we think it is. After she lost her only child, and then her business, she sat on the couch for a year, isolated in a virtual desert. Finally she did the only thing she could think of – she took a road trip. Following in her actor/chef/writer son's footsteps (Shaka Taylor), she began to cook and dance her way out of the darkness.

Following its world premiere at the Boston Film Festival, this 55-minute documentary brings the UK based American producer/writer/director back to Los Angeles, where her ritual journey of initiation into her new life began, Los Angeles – where she started shooting the film. Cooking for friends and strangers in different cities became the rituals she used to find life beyond the desert. No doubt her son and Cherokee ancestors have aided her on this journey.

With a soundtrack featuring singer songwriter Goapele and including popular indie artists such as Chrissi Poland, the music powerfully embraces the audience as they accompany the filmmaker on her transformational journey.
