Company to Showcase Software for Accelerating Storage and Virtual Workloads over Distance; Olympic Ski Jumper to Participate in Silver Peak Stand
LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Silver Peak Systems, the leader in accelerating data over distance, today announced it will be providing live demonstrations of its Virtual Acceleration Open Architecture (VXOA) software at the 2012 IP Expo, taking place October 17th–18th at Earls Court 2 in London. Located at stand A26, Silver Peak will showcase its software-defined acceleration that extends wide area network (WAN) optimization to storage and virtualization administrators.
When it comes to the performance of today’s applications in a virtual environment, it is no longer about having the biggest hardware, but about “software” that can be deployed and managed easily by administrators outside of the networking department. Trends such as software-defined networking (SDN) are gaining momentum and opening the door for these new WAN optimization deployment models. During IP Expo, Silver Peak will demonstrate its recently announced Agility solution for point-and-click acceleration of virtual workloads from VMware vCenter, and the recently announced Velocity solution for acceleration offsite storage replication in minutes.
Silver Peak will be joined at the show on Wednesday, 17th October by Britain’s first and only Olympic Ski Jumper, Eddie “The Eagle” Edwards, who visitors to the stand can compete against in the 2012 Silver Peak Ski Jump Challenge.
