Company Expands Nation’s Fastest 4G Network for Local Residents and Businesses
CRANSTON, R.I.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Verizon Wireless recently enhanced 4G LTE network coverage in Cranston, Rhode Island. This private investment further enhances 4G LTE coverage in the vicinity of southwestern Cranston as well as western Warwick.
Within the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE service area, customers with 4G LTE-enabled devices can post status updates and photos, surf the Web, share music, and download files at speeds up to 10 times faster than customers on 3G networks. Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE customers in the coverage area should experience average speeds of 5 to 12 megabits per second (Mbps) on the download and 2 to 5 Mbps on the upload.
Beginning October 18, Verizon Wireless will cover 417 markets nationwide, more than 75 percent of the U.S. population. Verizon Wireless currently offers more 4G LTE coverage than all other U.S. wireless providers combined. Regionally, Verizon Wireless is New England’s 4G LTE leader, offering coverage in parts of all six New England states.

Since 2000, Verizon Wireless has invested more than $3 billion into its New England network, including more than $297 million in 2011, to increase coverage and capacity on behalf of customers. Power and Associates 2012 Wireless Network Quality Performance Study(SM), Volume 2.
