(Adds more detail on duties)
WASHINGTON, Oct 10 (Reuters) - The United States said on Wednesday it had set final anti-dumping duties ranging from 18.32 percent to 249.96 percent on billions of dollars of solar panels and cells from China to offset unfair pricing.
Chinese manufacturers and exporters of the products will also be hit with final countervailing duties of 14.78 to 15.97 percent to offset Chinese government subsidies, the U.S. Commerce Department said in a statement.
The final countervailing duty rates are significantly larger than preliminary levels set earlier this year, which ranged from 2.90 percent to 4.73 percent.
Suntech Power Holdings was hit with a final anti-dumping duty of 31.73 percent and a countervailing duty of 14.78 percent. The final anti-dumping duty rate was in line with its earlier preliminary rate, but the final countervailing duty rate was increased from 2.90 percent earlier.
Trina Solar received a final 18.32 percent anti-dumping duty and a 15.97 percent countervailing duty, compared to preliminary rates of 31 percent and 4.73 percent.
The Commerce Department set a final anti-dumping duty rate of 249.96 percent and a countervailing duty rate of 15.24 percent for all other Chinese producers and exporters.
