Citizens for Protecting Taxpayers and Parental Rights: Former Governor Jeb Bush Endorses Amendment 6

TAMPA, Fla., Oct. 11, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Former Governor Jeb Bush today announced his support for Florida Amendment 6.

"While Governor of Florida, I supported the passage of a constitutional amendment that allowed legislation requiring parents to be notified if their minor daughter is considering an abortion. As parents, we have the responsibility and right to direct the education, health decisions and general welfare of our children," said Governor Bush. "With Amendment 6, Florida has the opportunity to restore parental consent for an abortion involving a minor child. Amendment 6 will also prohibit the use of public funds for an abortion except in cases of rape, incest or any condition that would cause the death of a mother if an abortion is not performed. Our tax dollars must continue to assist those in need such as disabled children and the frail elderly. I encourage all Floridians to vote and vote 'yes' on 6."

"Given the number of amendments on our ballot this year, we are certain Floridians will appreciate the former governor's perspective which brings critical focus to the key reasons for supporting Amendment 6," said Jim Frankowiak, campaign manager for Yes on 6.
