Pride Card Services Launches $250-20-20 Program to Benefit AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA)

PCS Will Donate $250 to APLA for Each New Merchant, 20% of Net Income on Account, and Reduce Merchant Processing Costs Up To 20%

WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Pride Card Services, an industry-leading gay-owned and operated payment processing company, is proud to continue its 15-year tradition of supporting community-focused, HIV/AIDS, civil rights and equality focused charities, in a new partnership with AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA). Pride Card Services is also pleased to be a co-chair supporter of the 28th Annual AIDS Walk Los Angeles on October 14 and has entered as a team to walk in the event as well.

Pride Card Services has carved out a unique niche within the payment processing industry. In addition to the full breadth of custom payment solutions and technologies the firm offers, Pride Card Services provides merchants with a means to visibly support the human rights causes that are important to the community, while also reducing their monthly processing costs.

The concept for the firm came from industry veterans Kirk Allen, Christine Bednar and Cliff Teston, who had founded the payment processing company Signature Card Services in 1997 but wanted to do more to support charities and causes, without compromising the quality of their services. With Pride Card Services, Allen, Bednar and Teston have developed a structured approach that enables merchants to make conscious and informed decisions about how they choose to process their payments. Merchants can take pride in knowing that with every charge they are supporting an important cause.

For every new merchant that signs with Pride Card Services, the firm donates $250 to charities. Each month thereafter, Pride Card Services donates 20% of the net income it earns on that merchant’s account. Merchants receive a window decal with the Pride logo as well as other collateral material, to let their customers know they are supporting these important causes. And because the merchant’s processing costs are reduced by 10% to 20% over their current processor—thanks to a quick and easy approval process, lack of hidden fees, and experienced, knowledgeable staff—Pride Card Services brings considerable benefits to both its merchants and the community.

APLA, the Los Angeles-based organization that supports people affected by HIV/AIDS, has become a key partner of Pride Card Services. The company has also become a co-chair supporter for APLA’s AIDS Walk Los Angeles, which this year is expected to draw 30,000 walkers to raise millions for HIV/AIDS treatment, prevention and advocacy programs. Additionally, a team of 17 walkers from Pride Card Services will take part and help to raise funds as well.

“We’re thrilled to partner with APLA and to participate in this year’s AIDS Walk Los Angeles,” said Cliff Teston, President and CEO of Pride Card Services. “APLA’s mission is so important to this community, and we’re delighted to be able to give local businesses a way to support that mission and maximize their impact while also helping their own bottom lines. With Pride Card Services, we’re proud to have created a win-win for everyone.”
