Take a look at some of Wednesday's midday movers:

Most Dow components were trading in positive territory, led by Boeing and JPMorgan, on a strong day for markets.

Flowers Foods rose after a CNBC report that the packaged-bakery goods company's $360 million bid won the whole Hostess Bread package including, Wonder Bread.

Retail giant Target traded lower following its quarterly earnings report and cautionary guidance. "The U.S. economy is growing at a painfully slow rate," Chief Executive Gregg Steinhafel said on a conference call. "We have a tempered view of the near-term sales environment."

Dollar Tree soared following its earnings reports and comments that the retailer expects to benefit from consumers hurt by broader issues including the higher payroll tax.

Despite some concerns about the consumer, stocks of leisure dining stocks traded higher including Panera Bread, Darden Restaurants and Chipotle Mexican Grill.

Sears Holding traded higher after Baker Street Capital reported a 6.7 percent passive holding in an SEC filing.

Kansas City Southern hit another all-time high following a positive analyst report at Credit Suisse.

First Solar was sharply lower to lead the S&P 500 laggards following the solar panel maker's weak earnings guidance.
