Flowers Foods rose after a CNBC report that the packaged-bakery goods company's $360 million bid won the whole Hostess Bread package including, Wonder Bread.
Retail giant Target traded lower following its quarterly earnings report and cautionary guidance. "The U.S. economy is growing at a painfully slow rate," Chief Executive Gregg Steinhafel said on a conference call. "We have a tempered view of the near-term sales environment."
