These Two Companies Are Taking on Netflix

Viacom and Amazon announced today that they have entered a multi-year agreement. The terms allow hundreds of shows in Viacom's back catalog and new shows to be streamed to Amazon Prime customers.

This puts rival Amazon's rival in streaming video, Netflix, on defense. A previous deal between Viacom and Netflix expired in May and was not renewed. Netflix was recently hit by lackluster reviews on its revival of "Arrested Development".

Besides the nearly-4,000 previously-aired episodes that will now be on Amazon Prime, Viacom will also offer exclusive content.
