Amid market highs, a few stocks still a ‘buy’

Other than bank stocks, another sector is worth a look for continued gains, TheStreet CIO Stephanie Link said Thursday.

"Yes, financials, but also industrials," she said on CNBC's "Fast Money."

Johnson Controls, Link added, had reported that it had started to be profitable in Europe, which might be signaling the start of some recovery.

Link also pointed to positive guidance from the likes of CSX and Union Pacific, who noted better demand and low inventories.

"We have some cash so that we could buy these big dips, and that's why we're comfortable buying some of these names," she said.

Rosecliff Capital's Mike Murphy said that he was positive on financial stocks, noting that interest rates would head higher "at some point."

"I'm really looking at value," he added. "I'm looking at things that are coming in with decent quarters that are selling off. So, yes, across the board, you can own the financials."

Murphy also liked technology.

"I don't want to chase tech here, but I'm looking at things like eBay that came out with a decent quarter and the stock sold off hard," he added.
