Apple has begun talking with senior executives at music labels about creating a streaming music service to rival Spotify and Beats Music, according to a report in Billboard.
Apple is also considering creating an iTunes app for Google's Android phones, sales of which have been growing faster than the iPhone.
The talks come as physical and digital music sales continue to decline worldwide, while streaming services have become a billion dollar business.
