Yahoo Mail was restored for users following a brief service outage on Tuesday afternoon.
The company informed CNBC that the "log-in issue that some of our users experienced today has been resolved."
"We apologize for the inconvenience," Yahoo spokeswoman Anne Yeh told CNBC earlier, when the issue was first detected.
Users took to Twitter with the hashtag #yahoomaildown to complain about the issue. While the main Yahoo website was not affected, many users could not access the email portal.
