Ivanka Trump said Wednesday that as an American, she'd be very lucky if her father, Donald Trump, ran for president of the United States.

"I would support him and encourage him wholeheartedly," Ivanka Trump said in an interview with CNBC's "Closing Bell."

"I have the unique perspective of being by his side every day and understanding how incredibly capable and just want an amazing visionary he is. As a citizen, it would be amazing if he makes that decision."

Ivanka Trump is the executive vice president of development and acquisitions for The Trump Organization.

In March, Donald Trump formed an exploratory committee to consider a run for the White House in 2016, but he's yet to announce a decision. He also considered a presidential bid in 2012.

In a statement announcing the committee, the real estate developer and star of "The Apprentice" touted his business experience and wealth.

"I have built a great company, created thousands of jobs and built a tremendous net worth with some of the finest and most prestigious assets in the world—and very little debt!" he said.

Ivanka Trump wouldn't say whether she'd be involved in the campaign, saying, "Let's wait to see what he decides."

"Of course, as his daughter, I would be his strongest advocate," she added.
