Pharmaceutical maker Shire said Monday that its shareholders approved the proposed acquisition of New River Pharmaceuticals .
Shire offered $64 (47.32 euros) per share, or approximately $2.6 billion (1.92 billion euros), for New River in February.
"Consummation of the tender offer now remains subject only to certain customary conditions," the company said in a statement.
The tender offer will expire on Tuesday.
Shire shares gained 0.1% to 64.28 pence ($1.27; 0.94 euros) on the London Stock Exchange.
