France's gross domestic product grew 2.0% in 2006 after rising 1.7% in 2005, the Insee statistics office said, revising the figure downward from the 2.1% it initially reported.
The 2006 rise was 2.2% when adjusted for differences in the number of working days in each year.
The public deficit eased to 2.5% of the GDP, and the public debt was 63.7% of GDP at the end of 2006.
