No. 2 - Abandoned At The Altar

Takeover speculation is one market influence that pushed stocks higher this year. Names such as Macy's (M), Wendy's (WEN), Lyondell Chemical (LYO) - all grabbed headlines as investors bet on potential buyouts. But with easy money getting a little harder to come by, will some corporate marriages find themselves uncoupled?

Pete Najarian says TGT is vulnerable to further selling because there isn’t takeover support. He adds Wendy’s, Macy’s and Starwood (HOT) could also lose value without speculation.

Jeff Macke says he likes Dillard’s (DDS) on this kind of weakness as well as Target but recommends getting out of Wendy’s.

Guy Adami says there could be a buying opportunity for US Steel (X) as well as Nucor (NUE) because fundamentals are strong and takeover speculation is also priced into these stocks. However, he recommends waiting and watching, for now.
