Here's the funny thing about the business of Hollywood (okay, ONE funny thing, there are a million others): you can never predict what characters will stand the test of time.
In an effort to nudge more Americans to plan for disasters, the McCormick Tribune Foundation surveyed people about which fictional character they'd like help from during an emergency. Getting the most votes was "MacGyver," a character who hasn't been on TV in 20 years! Who knew Marge Simpson's sisters spoke for so many of us in their love for the resourceful action hero played by Richard Dean Anderson?
