Jeff Macke, on vacation at DisneyWorld, writes to the panel: Hakuna Matata from the happiest place on Earth! Owning Sears Holdings (SHLD) as a ‘real estate play’ is like owning airline stocks as a play on aluminum. Sears is a retailer. Eddie Lampert is, by all accounts, a wildly talented guy but there is no financial magic on Earth powerful enough to save stores so horrible.
Jeff was, of course, responding to our third story in Word On The Street in which we told you that shares of Sears plunged Thursday after the retailer posts .01 cent profit.
