Fund manager Bill McVail has some very definite suggestions for investors about what's big in small-cap stocks.

The portfolio manager of the Turner Small Cap Growth Fund, sees 2008 as a "pretty solid year."

McVail has his eye on WMS Industries, a maker of slot machines.

"The trends that have been there, that have taken the stock to where it is, should continue into 2008," he said. "They'll be a number-two player behind IGT."

He's even found a strong small-cap stock in the retail sector: Guess.

"I think it follows the same map that Coach and others have," he said, "The one place where Guess does do well that some others don't is Europe...wholesale, retail, true global geographic distribution...and it's cheap."
