Kimberly-Clark to Raise Prices By Up to 8%

Kimberly-Clark, marker of Kleenex tissues, Huggies diapers and a host of other consumer products, said Friday it would raise prices by 6 percent to 8 percent in the third quarter to offset higher raw material and energy costs.

Kimberly-Clark's move is the latest hit to consumers, who are seeing higher prices for everything from gasoline to packaged foods.

On Tuesday the Labor Department said producer prices, excluding food and energy, rose at the fastest pace since 1991.

And consumers are already grappling with soaring energy prices, with oil topping $135 a barrel this week.
