The Comfort Trade

With their confidence shot from surging gasoline prices consumers are going for comfort rather than extravagant. How should you trade the trend?

CNBC trend titan Donny Deutsch, host of “The Big Idea” joins the panel for this conversation. Following are three trends that Deutsch recommends watching.

"Staycations"

Instead of traveling, families find fun things to do much closer to home.

"Retro-ism"

Consumers seek products that were popular in better times.

"Cocooning"

Outfitting the backyard with a new grill and patio furniture so staying home feels good.

How do you trade these trends?

I like Wal-Mart , counsels Jeff Macke, for one stop shopping and low prices.

Or look at the cable companies, adds Karen Finerman.

Maybe Six Flags will profit from these trends, speculates Guy Adami.

I like Home Depot , adds Pete Najarian.
