For months I've been covering Yahoo and Google's planned advertising partnership and the controversy surrounding it. After Google CEO Eric Schmidt said they're moving ahead with the partnership even without DOJ approval, the companies are changing their tune.

Friday Yahoo and Google agreed to delay the start of their Internet advertising search partnership until the Department of Justice finishes its probe into the deal.

Google met with the DOJ today. There's no date for the talks to conclude, but Google must have realized it would be easier to make a few tweaks to their partnership with Yahoo than deal with a lawsuit.
