It appears that the truth really will set you free. After Domino’s ran ads admitting its pizza was pretty bad, stock action has been pretty good.
Haven’t seen the ads?
They’re pretty candid. First introduced in January the campaign is pegged to the fact Domino's pizza - how shall we say it -- wasn't in the running to win any awards for culinary excellence.
“Worst excuse for pizza I ever had,” a company executive says grimly, quoting a customer’s comment in one spot. “Totally devoid of flavor.” “Domino’s pizza crust to me is like cardboard,” says a woman in a clip taken from a focus group.
But Domino's has also promised to improve taste and according to CEO Patrick Doyle they've succeeded in a big way. "People love the new pizza. The consumer response has been all that we'd hoped for."
What else did Doyle tells the Fast Money desk. Watch the video and find out now!
