China vows to help Greece over debt crisis

BEIJING, May 10 (Reuters) - Premier Wen Jiabao said that China will support actions to help Greece overcome its sovereign debt crisis, state media reported on Monday. There was no mention of any specific assistance which China will provide, apart from supporting actions taken by the International Monetary Fund and euro-zone countries to aid Greece. Wen said that the world should not underestimate the complexity of the global financial crisis, and he also reiterated China's urging that major currencies should be held at relatively stable exchange rates. He made the comments in a telephone conversation with Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, according to Xinhua news agency.
