NOVAVAX, $2.60, up 11 pct The company posted slightly narrower-than-expected first quarter loss. FERRO CORP, $10.25, up 13 pct The chemicals and coatings company said it will shut its manufacturing unit in the Netherlands by the end of the year, slash about 120 jobs and incur a charge of about $13 million in the period. DYNEGY INC, $1.34, up 12 pct The electric energy company posted a surprise quarterly profit, helped by higher operating margins, and retained its 2010 adjusted EBITDA outlook. TRANSDIGM GROUP INC, $53.64, up 5 pct The aircraft parts maker posted quarterly results that beat estimates, raised its 2010 guidance to reflect the current market outlook and said commercial OEM sales seem less likely to decline in the second half of the year. COMTECH TELECOMMUNICATIONS, $32.12, up 3 pct CPI INTERNATIONAL INC, $15.75, up 21 pct The telecom equipment maker agreed to buy smaller rival CPI International Inc in a cash-and-stock deal worth $472.3 million, to bulk up its RF microwave business. POLYCOM INC, $30.55, up 4 pct The video conferencing company said Robert Hagerty will step down as CEO and is resigning from the board. SUNSTONE HOTEL INVESTORS INC, $12.45, up 8 pct The lodging real estate investment trust said it purchased two hotel loans for about $3.7 million, as it works its way around a sluggish market for hotel deals. ROCK OF AGES CORP, $4.09, up 21 pct The granite quarrier said Friday it received an unsolicited buyout proposal from privately held Swenson Granite Co for about $32 million. GEOEYE INC, $29.24, up 10 pct Satellite imagery company GeoEye Inc posted a first-quarter profit, helped by a 78 percent jump in sales, and raised the lower end of its 2010 revenue view. HARBIN ELECTRIC, $20.30, up 10 pct The Chinese maker of electric motors reported better-than-expected first-quarter results. ENERGY CONVERSION DEVICES INC, $6.43, up 9 pct The company reported a narrower-than-expected third-quarter loss, and said market conditions were improving. NELNET INC, $19.38, up 9 pct The consolidator of student loans posted a quarterly profit that beat Wall Street expectations, helped mainly by lower interest expenses. DISH NETWORK, $21.87, up 2 pct The satellite TV provider posted stronger-than-expected quarterly results as brisk demand for premium services and price increases overshadowed higher programming and legal costs. RUBIO'S RESTAURANTS INC, $8.46, up 10 pct The Mexican restaurant chain said it agreed to be acquired by private equity firm Mill Road Capital LP for about $91 million in cash.
