According to my sources, there is zero chance of a private equity deal with Hasbro—in any way, shape or form—or specifically with the private equity firm Providence Equity Partners.
Hasbro's board of directors rejected, out of hand, an approach from the PE firm Providence Equity Partners about a go-private transaction and no talks have since taken place between Hasbro and Providence, according to sources close to the situation.
Two weeks ago, Hasbro's board told Providence it had no interest in a go-private transaction.
