Pops & Drops: Supervalu, Barnes & Noble...

Following are moves you might have missed. Find out why shares of Supervalu popped while Barnes & Noble and Thor Industries dropped.

POPS (stocks that jumped higher)

Supervalu (SVU) popped 3%. With shares trading near their lows for the year chatter that the grocery store could go private gained traction. - I'd avoid it, says Steve Grasso.

DROPS (stocks that slid lower)

Barnes & Noble (BKS) dropped 3%. Holiday forecasts missed Wall Street expectations and the company also reported a larger-than-expected quarterly loss. - No surprise, says Guy Adami.

Chesapeake Energy (CHK) dropped 4%. Argus downgraded the company to ‘Sell’ from ‘Hold’ saying its accounting is less than transparent. - I wouldn't play nat gas with this name, says Joe Terranova.

Yahoo (YHOO) dropped 3%. Published reports suggested Yahoo was on the verge of major layoffs, which investors took as a sign that the company was still struggling. - Maybe they'll break the company up, muses Tim Seymour.

Seagate (STX) dropped 3%. The company ended talks with private equity firms that had been interested in buying the company for about $16 a share. - It's not for me, says Brian Kelly.

Southwest (LUV) dropped 2%. The airlines announced a sale Tuesday, its latest effort to fill seats during the slow winter season.

Thor Industries (THO) dropped 12%. Profits failed to dazzle the Street while margins fell from a year ago.
