Is the Street All Wrong About RIM

Shares of Research in Motion landed squarely on the trader radar Monday after Barron’s raised some intriguing questions about the stock's decline.

In a recent article the widely followed financial publication wrote, “Ever since the first iPhone launched in the summer of 2007, to immediate raves, RIM has been seen by investors to be in trouble. That simply isn't true."

Barron’s goes on the argue that RIM has never had a single quarter of net global subscriber losses, and, with sales volume almost 20% greater than Apple's, it remains the biggest smartphone player in the U.S.

They also say that RIM has a far more secure network making it more attractive to companies around they world.

“In short, RIM isn't dead—or anywhere near it,” Barron’s concludes.

Are they right?
