Cramer: 9 Things to Watch Next Week

What follows is Cramer's "Game Plan" for the week of Monday, June 27.

MONDAY, JUNE 27

The week begins with Nike scheduled to report quarterly earnings results after Monday's closing bell, Cramer said. Nike posted disappointing numbers last quarter, causing the stock to drop 9 percent the day after it reported and fall to the $75 level the following week. To Cramer, the weak numbers were the result of the worldwide economic soft patch. After all, Nike's business model allows retailers to purchase merchandise 5 to 6 months in advance.

Things seem to be picking up this time around, though. Finish Line , which gets 60 percent of its sales from Nike products, reported a strong quarter on Thursday.

While the prospect for increased sales is nice, Cramer said the bigger issue is gross margins. He's not certain Nike can deliver, but is sure executives will tell a good story.

TUESDAY, JUNE 28

After the closing bell, engineering and construction firm Shaw Group will deliver earnings results. Cramer is interested to hear what it says about the prospect of future nuclear power projects following the natural disasters in Japan, which disrupted the country's Fukushima nuclear power plant. He also wants to know what the company says about coal versus natural gas.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 29

Family Dollar , Cramer's fave dollar store, is set to report earnings before Wednesday's opening bell. Cramer likes the company's remodeling program, which he thinks makes the stores more appealing to customers. He also likes how it continues to take share from big discount retailers, like Target and Wal-mart .

General Mills is also expected to post its quarterly numbers before the bell. With commodity prices declining, Cramer thinks this might be the most important call of the week because people are trying to figure out what the food companies are going to do.

Meanwhile, KB Home will also announce its earnings results Wednesday morning. Cramer wants to know if this homebuilder's stock is worth buying.

The last company to watch Wednesday morning is Monsanto . A lot of people want to get in on this stock right now, Cramer said. He thinks the biotech seed company could be a one-trick pony, though. So while he plans to listen to Monsanto's conference call, Cramer would rather buy shares of rival DuPont .

THURSDAY, JUNE 30

Desperate for more info on China's economy, Cramer is looking forward to Schnitzer Steel's earnings report, which is scheduled for Thursday morning. Cramer thinks this scrap exporter is one of the best barometers for Chinese growth. If Schnitzer's exports are weaker, Cramer thinks that could mean China's tightening may be coming to an end.

After Thursday's closing bell, Cramer will listen to Darden Restaurants' conference call. Cramer likes to monitor Darden's results because he thinks it's a good tell on how the consumer is doing. If the consumer is strapped, they might not be going to Darden's Red Lobster and Olive Garden restaurants, for example. If the consumer is doing well, they are likely eating out more.

Finally, Cramer recommended homegamers look out for HomeAway's initial public offering next week. It is the largest online marketplace for vacation rentals and will trade under the symbol AWAY. He is bullish on this company because businesses — not just people — make money from its services. Like Priceline and Expedia , he thinks it's a practical Web play and likely a long-term hold. If you can't get in on this deal, though, he wouldn't touch it.
