Is Obama Standing In the Way of US Energy Independence?

The U.S. could become less reliant on OPEC if only President Barack Obama would embrace America's ample oil and natural gas resources, Devon Energy CEO John Richels suggested Wednesday.

Instead the Obama administration has a "different world view" in terms of oil and fossil fuels, Richels told Cramer on "Mad Money." The President's alternative energy plan doesn't capitalize on oil or natural gas, Richels complained.

Oklahoma City-based Devon Energy is taking advantage of these resources, though. The independent oil and gas company plans to increase production and is currently looking at several "exciting opportunities" around the U.S., Richels said.
