Pfizer’s New Blood Thinner

Pfizer landed on the trader radar after the drug maker’s new blood thinner showed great promise in clinical trials.

According to reports, Eliquis demonstrated an impressive reduction in major bleeding and could emerge as the leading brand in stroke prevention.

Eliquis was approved in the European Union in May for preventing blood clots in patients who have had hip or knee replacement surgery. Pfizer is planning to seek U.S. approval later this year.
