New data compiled by Canaccord Genuity suggests one smart phone may be pulling away from the pack.
According channel checks performed by analyst Mike Walkley, Apple’s iPhone 4S was the best-selling smartphone for Verizon Wireless, AT&T and Sprint in November.
Not too shabby. But there's more.
”We’ve done a lot of research,” says Walkley in a live interview, and gains for Apple come at the expense of two competitors - HTC and RIM "They're weakness has been Apple’s gain,” he says.
Now, the question becomes how should you trade it?
”You can look to chip maker Qualcomm,” says trader Brian Kelly. ”(But) Apple is the best retailer in the world,” he adds, “people line up for hours just to get their products. You just can’t ignore that.”
But don't short RIM. Trader Steve Grasso adds that “it’s too risky to be short in a stock that’s declined with such magnitude.”
