Carl Icahn: Republicans Just Don’t Get This

With the country gearing up for an election year, we just couldn’t help but ask Carl Icahn where he stands on the candidates.

And although he’s been very public with his criticism of President Obama, on Fast Money Icahn also had some fairly harsh words for Republicans.

“I disagree with the rhetoric involving Ben Bernanke,” says Icahn. "It annoys me to watch the Republicans just bash him.”

”Bernanke did a great job – the Fed saved this country – if you hadn’t had the Fed come in -- we'd really be on the precipice.”

And Icahn also says the GOP is far too preoccupied with cutting the deficit.

“This is not the time to be so obsessed with the deficit. We do have a problem, we spend too much money but what we first need to do is get people back to work and you have to spend money to do that.”

So, when November rolls around and Icahn casts his ballot, who gets his vote? We can't draw any conclusions just yet. Icahn tells us, ”I’m middle of the road right now.”
