Barnes & Noble and Microsoft - Barnes & Noble announced Microsoft would invest $300 million to improve the bookstore chain's digital and college businesses.
Sunoco - Energy TransferPartners said it will acquire the oil company in a cash and stock deal worth $5.3 billionin an aim to focus on transporting more crude oil and refined products on the heels of declining natural gas prices.
NYSE Euronext - The exchange's quarterly profit tumbled by almost a third due to a slowdown in trading and costs from its failed merger with Europe's Deutsche Boerse.
Loews - The conglomerate posted better-than-expected quarterly results, thanks to an increase in investment income at its biggest holding CNA Financial .
Humana - The health insurer slumped in pre-market trading after the firm missed Wall Street's target, hurt by higher medical benefit costs.
DuPont - The chemical company's price target was raised to $27 from $24 by Jefferies.
Kraft - The food and beverage conglomerate was raised to "overweight" from "neutral" by JPMorgan Chase.
Oracle - Citigroup boosted its price target on the tech firm to $34 from $32.
