For most investors 2012 has hardly been a banner year for health care trades.
Oh sure, most investors have recorded gains, but the returns are nothing to shout about – chances are they’re pretty much in line with the broader market.

Kris Jenner, however, isn’t most investors.
He manages the T Row Price Health Science Fund and year to date he’s generated returns of 17% -- that’s roughly 3 times that of the XLV – which at the time of writing was up about 6% ytd.

Jenner tells us the secret to his success is scouring the market for companies that are developing new medical products. “And if we can find that in the context of smaller companies, the profitability can make more of an impact.”
He also says “we’re trying to find business models that drive down costs and improve outcomes – and hopefully both.”
Presumably all the companies listed above meet that criteria.
