Mike Murphy's Hot Stock

Which transport stock could deliver big?

Trader Mike Murphy, who is founder and managing partner of Rosecliff Capital, is a buyer of FedEx. “We pulled the trigger in the high 80’s,” he says.

Although Murphy likes valuations and the company’s acquisition of Brazil based transportation company Rapidão Cometa, his trade is based on a sea change that should benefit FedEx.

“Online sales are surging,” says Murphy. And he’s not just talking at Amazon or eBay.

“Macy’s online sales are up 42% quarter over quarter,” he says. “That’s a massive shift from Macy's shoppers walking into their stores to ordering online. And that plays right into FedEx’s wheelhouse.”

Murphy think the stock trades $100 or higher.

Trader Keith McCullough says he thinks the trade is “one of the better ideas he’s heard in a while. Murphy’s got this right, I think,” he says.
