Lawrence Schloss has been the New York City deputy comptroller for asset management and chief investment officer for the $120-billion New York City Retirement System since January 2010.
He is also a trustee of The Teachers’ Retirement System of the City of New York,The New York City Employees’ Retirement System, New York City Police Department Pension Fund and New York City Fire Pension Fund.
Prior to that, Schloss was chairman, chief executive officer and co-founder of Diamond Castle Holdings, which raised a $1.85 billion, middle-market private equity fund; and global head of CSFB Private Equity, which had $32 billion of alternative assets under management.
He spent 22 years at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, where his posts included chairman of DLJ Merchant Banking.
Schloss is a member of the board of trustees of Tulane University.
